Senate on Thursday ordered investigation into the alleged invasion of shops by operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service in Sango area of Ogun State.

Recall that the Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL through its executive Chairman, Mr. Debo Adeniran, lambasted Customs for carrying out the operation in an “armed robbery-like” manner.

The Senate decision was sequel to point of order raised by Senator Gbolahan Dada, who demanded urgent intervention.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over plenary, raised the matter.

Responding, Senators overwhelmingly supported the Dada’s prayer.

The incident will therefore be investigated by Senate Committee on Customs. ‎

Customs had alongside soldiers broken into several shops in the market around 12am.
